Through the years many people become very close friends of the Carter House
staff. Their support, encouragement, and friendship means the world to us.
It is always hard to loose a friend when they die, but we never loose what their
friendship means to us. |

Those who study civil war era flags have lost a champion. The
Carter House has lost a true friend when Devereaux Cannon suddenly died from
injuries sustained from a horse riding accident. Devereaux wrote several
books about Civil War flags and other subjects.
