BLUE AND GRAY DAYS

Military Schedule for April Living History

Friday night, April 16th

Camp at Carnton

Saturday, April 17th

9:00 a.m. – Formation.

10:00 a.m. - Battlefield communications. Demonstration showing how many commanders made contact with their troops on the field. This will be a firing demonstration using the bugle.

11:00 a.m. - “Yankee Ingenuity.” Firing Demonstration. Show the difference between the repeating rifle technology of the Federal Army at Franklin as compared to the rifled muskets carried by the Confederates.

12:00 p.m. - “An Army Moves on its stomach.” Visitors are welcome to tour both camps and see the differences between the diet of the two armies.

1:00 p.m. - March to the Carter House. Stop at modern Collin’s Farm site for discussions.

2:00 p.m. - Arrive at Carter House.

3:00 p.m. - Drill and Firing Demonstration.

4:00 p.m. - Knapsack Inspection.

Saturday night, April 17th

Camp at the Carter House.
