Anniversary Event

Plans are being made for the 145th Anniversary - Nov 30, 2009
145th Anniversary of Battle of Franklin Confederate Re-enactors will camp at Carnton Plantation
Federal Re-enactors will camp at The Carter House.

Regular tours will proceed at each site with the addition of Living History demonstrations added through-out the day.

Battle Skirmish Re-enactment at 2:30 PM at East Flank Battlefield (near Carnton Plantation) - Arrive early
3:30 - 5:00 PM Illumination at McGavock Confederate Cemetery.

Monday, November 30, 2009 -(Museum and Gift Shop will close at 4 PM)

Living history programs through-out the day and at 4 pm a two-mile walk from Winsted Hill to The Carter House with a special ceremony to follow.

10,000 luminaries that were displayed to memorialize the casualties of the Battle of Franklin on Sunday,
Nov. 30, 2008, in Franklin, Tenn. This year's Illumination took place on Columbia Avenue near the
Historic Carter House and was part the 144th Anniversary of Battle of Franklin remembering
the Civil War's 1864 Battle of Franklin.
